Welcome to LoweringBeta.com!
My name is David and I am the author of this website. I am a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter holder since 2004. I have been working in the banking and finance industry for more than 18 years.
I am well versed in all major asset classes from valuation, trading, investing and risk management perspectives (including equities, fixed income/bonds, forex, ETFs, managed funds, derivatives, structured products and alternatives).
The idea of having my own blog came to me in 2018. My passions are travel, Brazilian Jujitsu (BJJ), my Chow Chows and investing. Out of these, I decided to put together a website about investing and at the same time sharing some of the cutest moments of my Chow Chows with you.
There are way too many websites offering stocks tips and I didn’t want it to be one of them. I want to make this website a bit different. Instead of talking about returns and alpha, I want to focus on beta and risk. When it comes to investments, it is the important to manage the downside risks rather than chasing the returns blindly. Through this website I hope I would be able to share with you my knowledge in term of portfolio construction, asset allocation, how to analyze and evaluate different asset classes, how to assess risks and minimize them. I may not achieve all these goals; but if only some of you can take away one or two of the ideas here, I think it would still be a project worth doing.
Lastly, I hope these cute Chow Chow moments can bring some laughter into your life.
